    A Study of the International Collaboration Network in Pharmaceutical Research in the United States

    Objective To study the development of international collaboration network in pharmaceutical research in the United States. Methods Social network analysis was used to study the international collaboration network in the United States in 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015 respectively, then its constructive index and structural evolution were measured. Results and Conclusion The international collaboration network in the United States was improved after 2000, which contained integral structure and tight relationship among network nodes after 2010. Universities were the subjects to carry out international cooperation network in pharmaceutical research in the United States. Harvard University, University of California, University of North Carolina were the main bodies. From the perspective of technology in international cooperation, cancer, hypertension, depression, inflammation, schizophrenia, diabetes, brain science, stem cell, Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease were the hot topics of international cooperation research in the United States.

    Research on Promoting Effectiveness of Supplier on-site Audit

    Objective To analyze the effectiveness deficiency of supplier on-site audit of pharmaceutical manufacturers, and to put forward detailed and feasible improvement measures. Methods A research method of “raising problems – analyzing problems – solving problems” was mainly adopted. That was, first, the existing problems in supplier on-site audit were presented according to GMP regulations. Then the causes were analyzed according to the actual situation of pharmaceutical manufacturers. Finally, improvement measures were raised. Results and Conclusion The improvement measures were proposed, including making a reasonable annual audit plan and audit scheme, improving the effectiveness of communication and carrying out on-site audit discussion CAPA, to promote the effectiveness of supplier on-site audit, achieve the objectives of on-site audit and supplier management.

    Antineoplastic Medicines in China: Market Characteristics and Marketing Strategies

    Objective To provide reference for antineoplastic medicine manufacturers to choose suitable marketing strategies. Methods Market characteristics of antineoplastic medicines were analyzed and marketing strategies of antineoplastic medicines were raised. Results and Conclusion A few market characteristics were found: the market demand of antineoplastic medicines was increasing and the competition was intensifying as well; most of the medicines could not be substituted; the bargaining power of suppliers and purchasers on antineoplastic medicine was weak; the influence of drug advertisements was not strong on the demand of antineoplastic medicines. Therefore, it is suggested that manufacturers should strengthen research and development of new products, explore advantages of their products, enrich clinical evidences, establish academic images, and finally make the products covered in the health insurance directory.

    Predicting the Market Demand for Prescription Drugs in Hospitals–Taking an Antihypertensive Drug as an Example

    Objective To build a forecasting model based on the historical prescription drug sales data to predict the market demand for prescription drugs in hospitals so as to provide reference for analyzing the demand of the hospital retail market. Methods Qualitative and quantitative methods were adopted in combination with Excel and Matlab software use. Comparative analysis, time series analysis and grey model method were also used. Results and Conclusion Grey prediction model were used to obtain posterior variance testing c=0.051, p=1, based on the data of antihypertensive drugs in a first-class hospital, which meant the prediction accuracy was good. This model was used to forecast the market demands in May, June and July and they were 1003, 1207 and 1305 respectively, which were relatively accurate. Therefore, the construction of a grey model provide a reasonable basis for the short-term drug purchase in hospitals.

    A Study of Influence of Drug Advertisements on Consumers in China

    Objective To study the actual situation of drug advertisement influences and the cognitive effects of false advertisements on Chinese consumers. Methods Online questionnaires was made to collect the information from more than 500 consumers. Then statistical tools were used to analyze the data. Results and Conclusion Most Chinese consumers were susceptible to drug advertisements and lack of discernment to identify false advertisements. Even about one fifth of the consumers were ever deceived by false advertisements, and they did not want to report the cases so as to protect their rights. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the public’s ability to identify false drug advertisements. Once they find any false advertisement, they should take legal actions to safeguard their rights and interests. At the same time, the government supervision and law enforcement should be improved as well.
